Magnolia

Today we had a walk in a park and there were many blooming magnolias. These trees have something unusual about them.

Maybe, it is because of their age. Magnolia is one of the oldest plants on the planet. I guess it has a lot of memories. Maybe, that's why when you look at magnolia tree you feel that your life is just one among many others, and your problems as well.

You look at yourself with memories of the world. It makes you feel small and great at once.

Magnolias remind us what is really important and what is not. A lot of things happen around us, but every year in April you can see magnolias bloom.

Dream of a Lizard

I want to become a lizard. To sit on the sunny stone and relax. I want to run very fast and play with my long tail. I want to sit on someones hand and think "How strange people are". I want to look around and dream about hot summer days. I want to dream about juicy insects and songs of the grass and flowers. I want to become a lizard...just for a while...

Mysteries

Truly, we live with mysteries too marvelous
to be understood.

How grass can be nourishing in the
mouths of the lambs.
How rivers and stones are forever
in allegiance with gravity
while we ourselves dream of rising.
How two hands touch and the bonds
will never be broken.
How people come, from delight or the
scars of damage,
to the comfort of a poem.

Let me keep my distance, always, from those
who think they have the answers.

Let me keep company always with those who say
"Look!" and laugh in astonishment,
and bow their heads.
